We decided to run the Mountain Bike Badge during March & April 2011 which finished with a Expedition in Mid Wales over 2 days.
Twelve Explorers completed the required badge work and will be presented with their badges very soon.
Some found it a bit of a challenge, especially the long and relentless up hills which for most ended up in a push rather than a cycle (except Ralph & Harry who made it up nearly everything).
We rode 20.9 km on the 1st day followed by 18.3km the 2nd.
We had 6 fall off, and that is not counting myself as my falls were due to the fact I have recently moved to being clipped onto my pedals. So if you don’t unclip as you stop you simply fall to the side. Which happened a few times.
No major injuries and only one puncture.
Everyone had a great time and we will probably run this badge again in the summer for those who want to complete the requirements to gain the badge.
